Ola’s Kruti AI Assistant Faces Accessibility Issues on Web and App Platforms

Krutrim Takes Kruti Offline – Ola’s AI Challenges

Krutrim Takes Kruti Offline

Krutrim, the artificial intelligence division of Ola, has temporarily suspended its consumer assistant Kruti, making it unavailable on both web and mobile platforms, as reported by various news outlets. This development signifies a notable change, as the Kruti application has been removed from app stores, and users are unable to access its web interface. When attempting to visit the website, the message displayed is, “We’ll be back soon. Kruti AI is currently under maintenance. We’re working on something great and will be back shortly,” indicating a disruption in service.

Service Availability and Functionality

Moreover, Kruti is reportedly not operational within the Ola ecosystem as well. The AI assistant was initially launched in 2025 and was engineered as an intelligent assistant based on Krutrim’s proprietary model, Krutrim V2, which consists of 12 billion parameters. It was designed to facilitate tasks such as booking cabs, making bill payments, and placing food orders.

Official Communication Lacking

As of now, neither Ola nor Krutrim has provided any official comment regarding the service outage. A report from The Economic Times notes that the next iteration of the model, labelled Krutrim 3, which is expected to be a multi-billion parameter system developed utilizing a mix of in-house resources and IndiaAI GPU clusters, is experiencing delays.

Broader Challenges for Krutrim

The outage occurs amidst wider issues that Krutrim is currently facing, including ongoing leadership changes and difficulties with execution, which raises new concerns regarding its AI strategy. Additionally, the company is reported to have laid off more than 150 employees in two phases during the previous year.

Implications for Ola’s Business Ventures

This interruption underscores the significant challenges Krutrim is encountering, reflecting the execution obstacles within Ola’s primary ride-hailing services and Ola Electric, both of which have seen a notable decline in market share and overall valuation. For founder Bhavish Aggarwal, the concurrent pressures facing multiple ventures pose pivotal questions about strategic focus, execution depth, and the viability of his ambitions across diverse sectors.
