The platform also intends to look into opportunities in additional countries as it progresses.
Insights on Labour Shortages
Mathur, previously the President of OYO Europe, highlighted the significant labour shortages in Denmark and Germany, particularly in roles like housekeeping, during his time at OYO.
Kumar’s Continued Involvement with upGrad
Kumar, who resigned from his role as managing director at upGrad at the end of last year, will still participate in strategic decisions for the edtech firm while pursuing this new project.
Training Programs and Locations
BorderPlus has successfully launched its first pilot batch, consisting of approximately 10 candidates, and aims to grow rapidly. The key features of the training program include:
- Monthly training batches
- Programs lasting between 6-9 months
- Delivery formats including online, blended, or offline, with the final phase focused on offline language learning
According to the company, the inaugural training centre is situated in Pune, with plans for an additional centre in Mumbai. Further locations across India are set to be established for final-stage training.
Innovative Language Learning Support
To enhance language learning, BorderPlus is developing an AI-powered conversational bot, leveraging OpenAI’s technology. This tool will facilitate interactive spoken language practice.
