Pawport, an innovative pet technology startup located in Phoenix, is returning to CES 2025 to introduce its enhanced Smart Pet Door, which now includes an extra exterior door for improved security.
If you are weary of insects or, more concerning, raccoons and other wildlife infiltrating your home through standard pet doors, Pawport offers a promising solution. The smart pet door system, unveiled at last year’s CES, is crafted from durable, powder-coated steel and aluminium. It incorporates two robust deadbolts designed to withstand harsh weather conditions and deter unwanted animals from gaining access.
The door features a tracker tag along with motion-sensing technology, allowing it to automatically open as your pet approaches. Furthermore, a companion app provides remote control, enabling you to set schedules for the door’s operation and even issue voice commands via Alexa, Siri, or Google.
The updated model includes both an interior and an exterior door linked by a secure tunnel, enhancing safety further. When compared to other pet doors available, Pawport stands out as one of the most secure solutions, particularly in regions such as California, where coyote attacks have become more frequent. Recently, a man and his chihuahua sustained injuries after a coyote entered their home via a dog door.
To enhance safety, the smart pet door is equipped with sensitivity sensors that prevent it from closing on your pet during entry or exit. An additional feature allows the top panel controls to be disabled, preventing children from unintentionally triggering the buttons to open Pawport and potentially climbing through. In the event of a power failure, Pawport’s rechargeable battery pack guarantees that the door will continue to function, ensuring that pets are not left trapped either inside or outside.
The starting price for Pawport is $500, with availability expected in early 2025.
