Requestly Acquisition by BrowserStack

Requestly, a tool dedicated to HTTP interception, API mocking, and debugging, has been acquired by BrowserStack for an undisclosed sum. Founded by Sachin Jain, Requestly empowers frontend developers to intercept, alter, and simulate API requests directly within the browser, enhancing the efficiency of testing workflows.

Impact of Requestly’s Tool

This tool currently serves over 200,000 developers across more than 10,000 companies. As an open-source initiative, Requestly has successfully secured $125,000 in funding from Y Combinator and Peak XV Partners, previously known as Sequoia Capital India and SEA.

BrowserStack’s Commitment

Backed by Accel, BrowserStack has affirmed that Requestly will remain an open-source tool post-acquisition. The platform will continue to function autonomously while utilising BrowserStack’s extensive resources to accelerate its development.

Future Developments for Requestly

Requestly will maintain its free and open-source model, with plans to enhance its features to support HTTP interception on Android emulators and iOS simulators. This acquisition is part of BrowserStack’s strategy to bolster its developer productivity suite. In February, the company introduced an AI-driven testing platform designed to unify QA workflows.
