CARS24 Acquires Team-BHP to Enhance Automotive Insights

CARS24, a prominent name in the automotive sector, has secured the acquisition of Team-BHP, a leading automotive community platform in India. This strategic move is designed to bolster digital infrastructure and improve the automotive decision-making process for users.

Team-BHP will maintain its operations under the guidance of its founding team while preserving its established policies, which include a ban on sponsored content and a commitment to community-based moderation, according to a press release issued by the company.

Established in 2004, Team-BHP offers a wealth of user-generated reviews, ownership reports, and vehicle insights. CARS24 plans to implement technological integrations, product enhancements, and the introduction of AI tools into Team-BHP’s operations without disrupting its fundamental activities.

Leadership Insights on the Acquisition

Vikram Chopra, the CEO of CARS24, expressed that this collaboration will facilitate improved data utilisation and enhance the platform’s capabilities. Meanwhile, Rush Parekh, the founder of Team-BHP, highlighted the platform’s ongoing independence while taking advantage of new resources for growth.

Joint Efforts for User Experience

The partnership between CARS24 and Team-BHP aims to collaboratively enhance features that cater to users engaged in vehicle purchasing, selling, and ownership experiences.

Backed by notable investors including Alpha Wave, SoftBank, Tencent, and DST Global, CARS24 reported that it sold 200,000 cars in the fiscal year ending March 2024 (FY24). During this period, the company witnessed a significant increase in gross revenue, rising to Rs 6,917 crore from Rs 5,530 crore in the preceding fiscal year.
