Absolute Sports, part of Nazara Technologies and the parent company of Sportskeeda.com, has finalised agreements to purchase TJRWrestling.net and ITRWrestling.com from Titan Insider Digital.

This acquisition, set at $1.25 million (around Rs 10.5 crore), is an all-cash asset transaction facilitated through Absolute Sports’ U.S. subsidiary, Sportskeeda Inc., and is anticipated to be completed within 45 days.

Strengthening Presence in Combat Sports

The motive behind this acquisition is to enhance Sportskeeda’s footprint in the combat sports arena and broaden its influence in the U.S. market. Ajay Pratap Singh, the CEO of Absolute Sports, noted that this acquisition fits perfectly with the company’s aspiration to establish itself as a premier source for wrestling content globally.

User Engagement and Revenue

TJRWrestling and ITRWrestling collectively attract 1.7 million active users each month and generate 4.6 million monthly pageviews, mainly sourced from North America. In 2024, these platforms reported combined earnings of $722,000 (approximately Rs 6.1 crore).

Nazara’s Strategic Expansion

Nazara has a legacy of strategic acquisitions aimed at broadening its digital media and gaming portfolio. In 2019, it acquired a 67% share in Sportskeeda for Rs 44 crore. Other notable acquisitions include Nextwave Multimedia, Nodwin Gaming, Paper Boat Apps (Kiddopia), WildWorks, and a 47.7% investment in Moonshine Technology, the parent of PokerBaazi, for Rs 832 crore.

Recent Acquisitions

In 2024, Nazara acquired Comic Con India for Rs 55 crore through its subsidiary Nodwin Gaming, along with the acquisition of the UK-based Fusebox Games for $27.2 million. Furthermore, in January 2025, it acquired two mobile games, King of Thieves and CATS: Crash Arena Turbo Stars, from Zeptolab for $7.7 million.

Future Prospects

Nazara has also earmarked $100 million for upcoming mergers and acquisitions to further its international expansion initiatives.
