Vinyl-themed Microbrewery 33&Brew Secures Rs 20 Crore Funding
Vinyl-themed microbrewery 33&Brew has successfully raised Rs 20 crore ($2.2 million) in a Series A funding round spearheaded by Optimistic Capital. This venture capital firm had previously announced a Rs 200 crore fund dedicated to supporting the microbrewery industry.
Funding Utilisation
The fund has already allocated Rs 30 crore for its initial investments, leaving Rs 170 crore ready for deployment over the upcoming three years. This capital infusion is intended to bolster bottling, kegging, and other operations associated with craft beer. As an owner-operator fund, it focuses on fostering growth within India’s craft beer landscape while attracting investors from the Middle East and Africa (MEA) as well as India. The money raised will contribute to construction and expansion, as stated by 33&Brew in a press release.
About 33&Brew
Founded the previous year by Karthik Chandrasekaran, 33&Brew stands out as a vinyl-themed microbrewery that harmoniously blends craft beer with a carefully curated collection of vinyl records (33⅓ RPM). This establishment presents a progressive Indian menu set in a music-focused environment, the concept being developed in partnership with chef Sabyasachi Gorai.
Unique Experience for Guests
Guests at 33&Brew have the opportunity to choose and play vinyl records, thus crafting a personalised musical backdrop to accompany their drinks. The brand presents a progressive Indian menu enriched with global influences, alongside an array of craft beers, signature cocktails, and a thoughtfully curated food selection.
Market Differentiation Strategy
33&Brew aims to amalgamate the art of craft brewing with the culture of analogue music, setting itself apart in Bengaluru’s vibrant brewery scene. Optimistic Capital is committed exclusively to the craft beer sector, providing structured investment opportunities for both retail and institutional investors. The firm also plans to fund two additional microbreweries in central Bengaluru.
