Investment Boost for Akashalabdhi’s Innovative Space Solutions

Akashalabdhi Secures Pre-Seed Funding for Space Tech Innovations

Akashalabdhi, a pioneering space tech startup focused on creating expandable space habitats and dual-use defence technologies, has successfully raised $1.2 million in a pre-seed funding round. This funding came from notable investors including Uday Chatterjee, Romesh Sobti, Suraj Nalin, LVX, 1Crowd, and Riceberg Ventures.

The funds will primarily contribute to the development of ANTARIKSHAB, an expandable space habitat aimed at facilitating orbital logistics, conducting microgravity experiments, enabling space habitation, and supporting defence applications. Furthermore, this investment will expedite existing projects, such as inflatable solar arrays and analogue studies, which are crucial for the orbital launch of its Minimum Viable Product (MVP).

Innovative Solutions for Space Exploration and Defence

Akashalabdhi is committed to developing dual-use aerospace and defence technologies that address both national security and space exploration. Their offerings range from high-grade defence systems designed to boost terrestrial security to expandable orbital habitats that promise to shape the future of human activity in space.

Vision for India’s Role in Space

The founder of Akashalabdhi, Siddharth Jena, expressed that the vision for the company is straightforward. They aim to position India as a leader in orbital infrastructure and space habitation by innovating in dual-use technologies. Jena mentioned that the successful completion of their pre-seed funding round marks a considerable achievement that brings them closer to realising this vision. He noted that with the backing of their investors, they are advancing toward making ANTARIKSHAB a globally recognised project.

Support and Incubation

With incubation at the FSID, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), and TIDES, IIT Roorkee, along with support from the KickSky Accelerator, Akashalabdhi capitalises on research and mentorship to translate visionary concepts into scalable practical solutions.
