Akshayakalpa Organic Secures Rs 175 Crore in Series D Funding
Akshayakalpa Organic is in the process of raising Rs 175 crore (approximately $19 million) through its Series D funding round, which is being led by ABC Impact Fund, with contributions from existing investors. Regulatory filings acquired from the Registrar of Companies (RoC) reveal that the company’s board has approved a special resolution to issue 36.81 lakh Series D compulsory convertible preference shares at a price of Rs 475 each.
Investment Details in the Series D Round
ABC Impact, via IMP2 Growth Pte Ltd, is set to spearhead the round with an investment of Rs 101 crore. Other contributors include Rainmatter with Rs 21 crore, while both Asha Ventures and Catamaran Ventures plan to invest Rs 16 crore each. Existing investors, comprising Waterfield Fund, Pratithi Growth Fund, and A91 Partners, are anticipated to provide the remaining capital.
Company Valuation and Fund Utilisation
According to estimates provided by Startup Superb, this funding round values Akshayakalpa Organic between Rs 1,600 and 1,700 crore on a post-money basis. The raised funds will be directed towards working capital needs and expansion plans, as indicated in the filings.
Secondary Component of the Funding
Sources inform that the funding round includes a secondary component, with ABC Impact Asia assisting early investors such as Venture Dairy in taking exits.
Startup Superb has reached out to Shashi Kumar, the CEO of Akshayakalpa Organic, for comments regarding this development, but the company has chosen not to respond. Reports suggest that they are also in discussions to raise an additional Rs 350 crore in this latest funding phase.
