Amazon’s Cumulative E-Commerce Exports from India Reaches $20 Billion
Amazon has successfully surpassed $20 billion in total e-commerce exports from India via the Global Selling programme, achieving its revised goal for 2025 ahead of schedule. The company’s new objective is to reach $80 billion in cumulative exports by the year 2030.
Overview of the Global Selling Programme
Launched in 2015, the Global Selling programme enables Indian exporters to market their goods across more than 18 Amazon marketplaces, such as the US, UK, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Canada, and Germany. To date, over 200,000 exporters have joined the programme, reflecting a growth of 33% in the seller community over the past year. Through this platform, exporters have facilitated sales of over 750 million Made-in-India products to customers globally.
Top Contributing States and Cities
Exporters from various Indian states, including Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Haryana, have made significant contributions to the platform. Additionally, smaller cities like Karur, Erode, Panipat, Junagadh, Anand, and Haridwar have also experienced remarkable growth in 2024, with exports reaching between $22 million and $147 million.
Product Categories with High Growth Rates
The following product categories have showcased impressive 10-year compound annual growth rates (CAGR): health and personal care (45%), beauty (45%), toys (44%), home (39%), apparel (37%), and furniture (36%).
Comments from Amazon’s Leadership
Srinidhi Kalvapudi, who is the Head of Amazon Global Selling India, mentioned that the company has achieved the $20 billion milestone ahead of its original target. The focus going forward is to enhance exports through advancements in technology, skill development, and strategic partnerships.
Support for Indian MSMEs
Amazon has committed to collaborating with Indian MSMEs to streamline several processes such as compliance, logistics, payments, and cross-border operations. Furthermore, the company intends to publish the Exports Digest 2025, which will offer valuable data and insights regarding e-commerce exports from India.
