Bigbasket has welcomed Amit Nanda as the new Chief Executive Officer, stepping into the role previously held by long-serving CEO Hari Menon. Nanda brings a wealth of experience with over twenty years in e-commerce, consumer goods, and consumer banking. Prior to joining Bigbasket, he was with Amazon India as the Director of Selling Partner Services, where he managed the Indian third-party marketplace system.

Amit Nanda’s Background and Experience

Before his position at Amazon, Nanda played a significant role in developing and expanding the company’s owned brands across various categories. Throughout his eleven-year career at Amazon, he occupied numerous leadership roles, which included marketplace operations, product management, technology, and private brands. Furthermore, he has held prominent positions at Hindustan Unilever and Citibank, enriching his expertise in consumer businesses, brand management, and digital commerce.

As CEO, Nanda is set to spearhead Bigbasket’s growth phase, with a keen emphasis on fortifying its quick commerce presence and propelling innovation in its services. Bigbasket currently serves a customer base exceeding 25 million, providing an extensive range of over 30,000 products encompassing groceries, fresh produce, fruits and vegetables, medicines, fashion, electronics, and beauty items. The company operates in over 60 cities, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 locations, supported by a network of more than 900 dark stores.
