Aum Ventures – India Innovation Fund II: A Focused Approach to Deep-Tech

Aum Ventures, a venture capital firm that focuses on deep-tech and intellectual property-led innovation, has announced the launch of its second fund, Aum Ventures – India Innovation Fund II, which aims for a target corpus of Rs 750 Crore (around $80 million). This new fund is dedicated to supporting Indian founders who are developing companies driven by innovation and intellectual property, with the potential to compete on a global scale.

Investment Focus of Aum Ventures – India Innovation Fund II

The fund’s primary focus will be on pre-seed and seed-stage startups, offering initial cheque sizes that range between $750,000 and $2 million, along with follow-on capital expanding up to the Series A and B funding stages. Over its lifecycle, Fund II is projected to provide support to approximately 25 to 30 portfolio companies.

Previous Successes and Capital Deployment

Since its inception in 2022, Aum Ventures has allocated roughly $30 million across 24 early-stage enterprises, including notable names such as Skyroot Aerospace, Cosmoserve Space, Sanyark Space, Azimuth AI, and Sharang Shakti. The latter, which was Aum Ventures’ investment in defence technology, was recently acquired by Deepinder Goyal’s LAT Aerospace.

New General Partner and Leadership

To enhance its operations for Fund II, Aum Ventures has appointed Nisha Shah as a General Partner. Shah brings a wealth of experience from her previous leadership roles in a prominent family office and has worked with both venture capital and private equity firms, along with experience from various consulting firms.

Aum Ventures is dedicated to early-stage investments in deep-tech and IP-led startups founded by Indian entrepreneurs. Their investment focus encompasses various sectors including space technology, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, defence technology, and artificial intelligence.
