Avaana Capital Drives Rs 43 Cr Pre-Series A Investment in Deeptech Innovator DheyaTech

DheyaTech Raises Rs 43 Crore in Pre-Series A Funding for Gas Turbine Innovations

DheyaTech Secures Rs 43 Crore in Pre-Series A Funding

Bengaluru-based deeptech firm DheyaTech has successfully raised Rs 43 crore during a pre-Series A funding round led by Avaana Capital, with contributions from Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing. This new investment will enable DheyaTech to enhance its production capabilities, establish a comprehensive testing facility for its gas turbine engines, and collaborate with both domestic and international clients to speed up deployment timelines, as stated in a recent press release.

Innovative Gas Turbine Engine Development

Founded in 2018 by Gurushankara K C, Abhinav Alva, and Chetan Kumar, DheyaTech specializes in the creation of micro gas turbine engines and energy systems tailored for aerospace and power generation sectors. The company’s engine offerings range from 20 kgf to 400 kgf of thrust, catering to diverse applications in aerial mobility, advanced aerial platforms, and distributed power systems.

Commercial Deployment and Future Plans

DheyaTech has announced that its gas turbines are entering the commercial deployment phase, with flight trials anticipated for Q4 2026. The company has also secured confirmed orders from both Indian and international original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

Technological Advancements

The company has created an adaptive Engine Control Unit (ECU) and is focusing on fuel-flexible and hydrogen-based propulsion and power generation technologies. Their portfolio features a hydrogen blower alongside a hydrogen-based flexi-fuel combustor for their 60 kW flexi-fuel turbogenerator. The adaptability of their platform enables DheyaTech to produce engines across various thrust categories and applications.

Competitive Landscape

The funding comes in a competitive environment where various Indian startups are pursuing advancements in gas turbine and propulsion technologies. Bengaluru-based Nabhdrishti Aerospace, which focuses on fuel-flexible micro gas turbines for aviation, UAVs, and power generation, raised $3 million during a seed round backed by Accel in March 2025, following an earlier Rs 3 crore pre-seed investment facilitated by IIMA Ventures.

Additionally, LAT Aerospace, founded by Surobhi Das and Deepinder Goyal, is developing lightweight gas turbine engines as part of its STOL aircraft program, with Goyal contributing $20 million to the initiative. Meanwhile, Hyderabad-based Paninian introduced its 4.5 kN Yantur turbofan programme in 2026, designed for autonomous aerospace and defence applications.
