Balwaan Krishi Secures Rs 100 Crore in Series B Funding
Agricultural machinery company Balwaan Krishi has successfully acquired Rs 100 crore in a Series B funding round led by First Bridge India Growth Fund Private Equity, along with contributions from other institutional investors. This Jaipur-based enterprise had previously secured $2 million in a pre-Series A round, which was overseen by Caspian Leap for Agriculture Fund, with support from angel investors such as Deepak Agarwal, Rishab Jain, and Pulkit Bachhawat in May 2023.
The latest funding will be directed towards enhancing domestic manufacturing capabilities, fortifying dealer and service networks specifically in Southern India, and innovating farm equipment integrated with predictive maintenance and IoT functionalities, as stated by Balwaan Krishi in an official press release.
Founded in 2016 by Rohit Bajaj and Shubham Bajaj, Balwaan Krishi develops agricultural apparatus suitable for Indian farming conditions. The company boasts a network of over 800 dealers throughout Northern India, complemented by an e-commerce platform that serves more than four lakh farmers nationwide.
Balwaan Krishi highlights that around 86% of Indian farmers are classified as small and marginal, cultivating less than two hectares. Their product offerings range from Rs 10,000 to Rs 1 lakh, strategically targeting this demographic through a hybrid B2B and B2C distribution model.
The company aims to bolster its manufacturing capabilities within India to enhance oversight of quality, streamline supply chains, and ensure product availability while decreasing reliance on imported machinery and components. Plans are also in place to extend their footprint in Southern India, with an emphasis on availability of products and after-sales services.
The ecosystem for agricultural machinery startups has been increasingly vibrant, particularly with developments in electric tractors, robotics, AI, automation, and digital platforms. For instance, in 2025, the electric tractor startup Moonrider accomplished a fundraising of $6 million from Pi Ventures and Singularity AMC after an initial seed round of $2.2 million. Additionally, Harvested Robotics procured Rs 5 crore in seed funding from Arali Ventures with participation from Anand Mahindra among others, to innovate AI-powered laser weeding technology for tractors. Tractor Junction, a digital marketplace for tractors and agricultural machinery, has also made significant strides, securing $22.6 million in Series A funding led by Astanor, along with contributions from Info Edge and Omnivore.
