AI-Powered ADAS for Two-Wheeler Mobility by BYTES Receives Funding
BYTES, an AI-driven Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) designed specifically for two-wheeler mobility, has recently emerged from stealth mode. It has gained significant funding from Nikhil Kamath’s WTFund as part of its second cohort for 2024. The startup has been awarded a ₹20 lakh non-dilutive grant aimed at boosting its mission to improve road safety through innovative AI and computer vision technology.
Funding to Launch Pilot Programs
The newly acquired funds will facilitate the launch of pilot programs in collaboration with prominent two-wheeler Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). BYTES plans to integrate its AI safety system into practical scenarios, as stated in the company’s press release.
About BYTES
Founded in August 2024 by Prakhar Agrawal and Aayush Kumar, BYTES is committed to developing an AI-based Advanced Driver Assistance System for two-wheelers. The company’s unique vision technology and sophisticated AI models are designed to offer real-time alerts and can take partial control during critical situations, thereby assisting riders in accident prevention.
Partnerships and Backing
Operating from Bengaluru, BYTES boasts substantial backing from various organisations, including WTFund, IIMB’s NSRCEL (an incubator for startups and entrepreneurs), NVIDIA’s Inception Program for Startups, Microsoft for Startups, and the Wadhwani Foundation.
The Road Safety Challenge
Research indicates that over 50 million road accidents occur globally each year, with two-wheelers involved in 60% of these incidents. Alarmingly, human error is a factor in 90% of these accidents, and the lack of adequate safety features can elevate the risk of fatalities by 40%.
BYTES’ Vision for the Future
BYTES envisions a future where no two-wheeler accident leads to a preventable loss of life. The company is dedicated to addressing the existing safety gap in two-wheeler mobility through a scalable and technology-focused strategy.
Support from WTFund
WTFund offers up to ₹20 lakh in grant funding, in addition to mentorship and strategic partnerships, to assist startups in amplifying their impact.
