Canvaloop Secures $1.5 Million for Sustainable Textile Innovations

Canvaloop, a prominent biomaterials company focused on converting agricultural waste into textile grade fibres, has successfully raised $1.5 million from Gujarat Venture Finance Limited (GVFL) and Rockstud Capital. This innovative startup recently gained attention by appearing on Shark Tank India. The funds will be utilised to enhance production capacity, improve supply readiness, reduce delivery timings, and expand its alternative fibre platform, as stated in a recent press release.

Innovative Technology in Biomaterials

Established in 2020 by Shreyans Kokra, Canvaloop is at the forefront of converting agricultural waste, such as pineapple, banana, and hemp, into eco-friendly textile grade fibres. This is achieved through a proprietary climate light, closed loop technology that is designed to use minimal water and chemicals.

Sustainable Practices for the Textile Industry

The startup, based in Surat, utilises natural feedstocks including hemp, flax, and crop residues to create sustainable and scalable material alternatives for the textile sector. Canvaloop is committed to ongoing investment in next-generation material innovation, such as regenerative fibre, to facilitate the transition towards more sustainable and resilient textile value chains.
