Healthtech Startup Cent Raises Funding for Disease Detection
Healthtech startup Cent has successfully secured an undisclosed sum of funding from OneFlow Holdings and South Park Commons. Cent, founded by Shashank ND, who previously established Practo, alongside Arpit Garg from Lenskart and Anshul Khandelwal from Ola Electric, is dedicated to creating an AI-driven platform aimed at early disease detection. This platform focuses on the early identification of severe health issues such as cancer, cardiac diseases, and metabolic disorders.
Overview of Cent’s Operations
Based in Bengaluru, the startup adopts a direct-to-consumer approach, providing scans that are specifically designed to uncover diseases before any symptoms manifest. Operating since the start of the fiscal year 2026, the company has reportedly completed over 1,500 scans to date.
Key Findings from Scans
According to the healthtech startup, approximately 26% of the scans revealed clinically significant findings, while around 3% to 4% identified critical health conditions that require urgent medical intervention.
Funding Trends in Oncology
In recent years, funding in the oncology sector has experienced a significant uptick. For instance, the cancer care startup Oncare has recently secured Rs 27 crore, with Sky Impact Capital leading the investment. Similarly, 4baseCare obtained Rs 90 crore, backed by Ashish Kacholia and Lashit Sanghvi.
Other Notable Funding Activities
Last year, Everhope Oncology raised $10 million in seed funding, while MOC Cancer Care & Research Centre attracted $18 million through a round led by Elevation Capital. Other startups that have received funding in the oncology arena include ErlySign, Oncare, and OneCell Diagnostics.
