CIMware – Innovative Data Center Solutions
Bengaluru’s deep-tech startup CIMware has successfully secured $2.3 million in pre-Series A funding from Transition VC, a venture capital fund focused on energy transitions. This investment will support the expansion of their hardware production and enhance research and development initiatives.
CIMware and Its Groundbreaking Technology
CIMware, established by Rajiv Ganth, who previously led CloudSimple India prior to its acquisition by Google, is creating a new segment in data center hardware. Their flagship product, the Composable Infrastructure Module (CIM), is an intelligent top-of-rack switch that integrates computing, storage, and networking into a single unit.
Efficiency and Cost-Effectiveness
CIMware asserts that their technology can reduce power consumption by as much as 80%, decrease the total cost of ownership, and lessen the physical space required for data center setup.
Production and Future Plans
The startup has initiated production of its first 20 CIM units, which are expected to be deployed in Indian data centers by the end of 2025. Moreover, CIMware is actively seeking partnerships in markets such as South Korea, the UK, and the US. They also aim to pursue direct sales in India and the US, with plans for white-label agreements in Southeast Asia.
