Codeyoung – Innovative Learning Platform for Kids Secures $5 Million Funding
Codeyoung, the premier learning platform for children in K-12 education, has successfully secured $5 million in a Series A funding round, co-led by 12 Flags Group and Enzia Ventures. This funding round also signifies an exit for early investors. Based in Bengaluru, the company had previously garnered $1.86 million in a seed funding round from Guild Capital and other firms.
The newly acquired funds will be invested to enhance Codeyoung’s international market presence, develop AI-enhanced personalisation tools, and introduce new educational categories, as revealed in a recent press statement.
Company Origins and Mission
Established in 2020 by Shailendra Dhakad and Rupika Taneja, Codeyoung offers live, one-on-one online classes for children aged 5 to 17. The platform provides a diverse range of subjects, including Coding, Mathematics, English, Science, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and SAT Preparation. Beyond academics, Codeyoung’s mission is to cultivate confident and creative thinkers in children who can apply their learning to real-world situations.
Transforming Learning Experience
The platform effectively converts passive screen time into active skill development, encouraging curiosity, problem-solving abilities, and self-confidence among its users. According to Shailendra Dhakad, Co-founder and CEO of Codeyoung, they have created a model where learning outcomes are the priority. Students progress at their own pace, while parents enjoy full transparency regarding their child’s advancement. Families desire personalised and dependable learning experiences, and this investment will enable Codeyoung to extend that opportunity to more children globally.
Impressive Achievements
Codeyoung proudly claims to have provided over 20 lakh hours of learning to more than 25,000 students across 15 countries. The platform boasts impressive metrics, including completion rates exceeding 80 percent, renewal rates above 60 percent, and a Net Promoter Score (NPS) exceeding 65.
