Recently, it secured $2 million in funding from Transition VC, a fund focused on energy transition. Founded in 2018 by Amarjeet Kumar and Vikas Kashyap, Comminent designs standards-based, device-agnostic RF mesh communication networks particularly suited for essential infrastructure applications like smart metering and developing smart cities. Its network stack is interoperable, high-throughput, highly secure, and self-healing, effectively tackling the reliability, scalability, and latency issues of traditional communication systems.

Expansion Plans and Financial Projections

The Bengaluru-based startup is dedicated to providing utilities and OEMs with a dependable and cost-effective solution that functions efficiently across diverse geographies, including rural regions. Comminent is poised to support India’s initiative to deploy 250 million smart meters in the upcoming 4 to 5 years and is anticipating revenues of Rs 300 crore by FY28.

Comminent has announced its commitment to deliver over 1 million endpoints under current contracts and is actively engaged in discussions for additional smart metering projects. Furthermore, the startup is making strides towards implementing smart street lighting and water metering initiatives.
