DeHaat Honest Farms Secures Rs 35 Crore for Pesticide-Free Initiative
DeHaat Honest Farms, a consumer food brand dedicated to pesticide-free offerings established by DeHaat, has successfully raised Rs 35 crore in a pre-Series A financing round. This funding was led by OTP Ventures, with additional participation from Sadev Capital and Maiuni Ventures. Furthermore, the company has appointed Adarsh J Srivastava, co-founder of DeHaat, as the new Chief Executive Officer to spearhead its growth strategy.
Investment Utilisation for Growth
The funds acquired will be used to accelerate geographic expansion, enhance awareness of pesticide-free products, and expand their product line through targeted new product development. DeHaat Honest Farms aims to connect consumers directly with India’s farmers by providing pesticide-free food, prioritising quality and transparency.
Direct Sourcing and Quality Assurance
According to the team at Honest Farms, they source food directly from DeHaat’s network involving over 13 million farmers. This approach guarantees traceability and consistent quality. Each product undergoes more than 230 quality checks and comes with a pesticide-free certification, ensuring that everything is clean, authentic, and free from harmful chemicals.
Product Range and Available Channels
DeHaat Honest Farms offers a diverse range of more than 100 products, including staples, superfoods, and everyday essentials. These products can be found in over 3,000 retail outlets across 120 cities, as well as on various prominent quick-commerce, ecommerce, and modern trade platforms.
Future Growth Plans
In the upcoming 12 to 18 months, the company aims to increase its Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) to Rs 200 crore by expanding its retail presence to over 10,000 stores. This initiative aims to make clean food widely accessible to millions of households throughout the nation.
Market Trends in Pesticide-Free Foods
The demand for pesticide-free and clean-label consumer food products in India is on the rise as more individuals become aware of food safety, traceability, and the presence of chemical residues in everyday staples. Additionally, Safe Harvest is an emerging competitor in the sector, providing pesticide-free staples such as grains, pulses, and spices. It was acquired by Wingreens in 2026 via a share-swap deal. Farmizen is also advancing in the area of chemical-free food production and direct-to-consumer models.
