Delhivery Direct: On-Demand Intracity Delivery Service Launch

Delhivery Direct, an on-demand intracity delivery service, has officially launched in the Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru regions. This follows a successful trial phase in Ahmedabad.

The service allows customers to request local deliveries within just 15 minutes. It caters to a variety of delivery needs, using two-wheelers for smaller items and three- or four-wheelers for larger shipments.

Features of Delhivery Direct

Sahil Barua, the Managing Director and CEO of Delhivery, stated that they are fully operational with Delhivery Direct in NCR and Bengaluru—two of India’s largest markets for on-demand intracity services. The company plans to expand quickly into other major metros.

This launch enriches the services available to customers, allowing them to rely on Delhivery for all their intracity logistics needs.

Benefits of Delhivery Direct

The service is designed to benefit consumers, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and delivery partners. It offers earning opportunities and flexible working hours through Delhivery’s extensive network.

Users can find the Delhivery Direct app on both Google Play and Apple’s App Store. Beyond intracity deliveries, the app also facilitates intercity parcel shipping to over 18,800 pin codes across India directly from the user’s location.

Competitive Landscape

Recently, Uber launched Courier XL, an extension of its logistics services that enables the delivery of larger items. With the introduction of Delhivery Direct, Delhivery enters into direct competition with Porter, which reached unicorn status after securing $200 million in Series E funding. Other competitors in this space include Borzo and Mover, in addition to Rapido, which operates in the two-wheeler courier sector.
