EaseMyTrip Denies Connection with Mahadev Betting App
EaseMyTrip has recently clarified that it has no association, whether direct or indirect, with the Mahadev online betting application. This clarification follows the Enforcement Directorate (ED) carrying out searches across various states on Wednesday, which is a part of their ongoing investigation.
The company revealed that the ED searched over 50 locations associated with different individuals and businesses, including the premises of EaseMyTrip’s founder and chairman, Nishant Pitti.
In an official statement, a spokesperson for EaseMyTrip emphasized that the company is not linked to the Mahadev Betting App or any other similar gambling platform. Furthermore, the company affirmed its commitment to fully cooperate with authorities throughout the investigation.
Details of the Mahadev App Investigation
The Mahadev app is reportedly under scrutiny for allegedly facilitating the creation of user accounts, user enrolment, and managing funds using fraudulent bank accounts. The ED has previously named Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, who are said to be from Chhattisgarh, as the principal figures behind this application.
Potential Involvement of Politicians
The investigation also hints at the possibility that several high-ranking politicians and government officials from Chhattisgarh may play a role in the app’s operations and related money laundering activities. This investigation continues to unfold as authorities delve deeper into the situation.
