EDT Consumer Appliances Startup Secures $1.4 Million in Pre-Seed Funding

EDT, a startup focused on consumer appliances, was established by Naiyya Saggi and Vyasateja Rao. The startup recently raised $1.4 million in its pre-seed funding round, which was led by Sauce VC. Notable participants included Consumer Collective, Peak XV’s Spark Grant, and a coalition of founders, operators, and family offices.

Angel investors contributing to this funding round come from prominent firms such as Caratlane, Noise, Urban Company, Mokobara, Ultrahuman, Servify, Vahdam, Dixon Technologies, Cyient, Reckitt, among others. The startup has also enlisted advisors with extensive backgrounds in hardware, retail, and global consumer brands.

The funding will facilitate the development of its product lineup, the establishment of research and development along with design processes, and the recruitment of talent in areas such as engineering, design, and manufacturing. Additionally, EDT plans to collaborate with manufacturing partners both in India and internationally.

EDT’s Vision and Product Plans

Founded in 2025, EDT aims to curate a range of consumer appliances that cater to home, kitchen, and personal care sectors. The startup’s focus is on innovative product design, suitable materials, and technology tailored for contemporary households.

EDT anticipates that its initial products will be available for preorder and waitlists starting between January and February 2026.

Founders’ Background

Naiyya Saggi, who has experience as the founder of BabyChakra and was involved with the Good Glamm Group, transitioned from her operational role last year. Vyasateja Rao is a skilled industrial designer, previously managing the design studio Analogy before launching EDT.

Market Expansion Plans

The startup has a strategy to firstly launch its products in India, with plans for gradual expansion into markets such as the GCC and the US. EDT aims to establish a global consumer appliances brand originating from India, focusing on practical everyday applications.
