Ema AI Startup Raises $77 Million in Series B Funding

Ema, an innovative AI startup, has successfully raised $77 million in a Series B funding round led by Creaegis. This round also saw contributions from existing investors including Accel, S32, Prosus Ventures, Hitachi Ventures, and Wipro Ventures. Established in 2023, Ema focuses on developing AI employees that assist with various enterprise functions such as human resources, information technology, and finance. The startup boasts that its AI employees are currently used by some of the largest organisations globally, managing millions of workflows every day.

Ema had earlier secured $25 million in its inaugural funding round in March 2024, which was also led by Accel, S32, and Prosus Ventures. This round received backing from Wipro Ventures, Venture Highway, AME Cloud Ventures, Frontier Ventures, Maum Group, and Firebolt Ventures. With this latest funding, Ema’s total capital raised to date amounts to $140 million.

The newly acquired funds will allow Ema to expand its go-to-market strategies, promote adoption among large enterprises, and enhance its AI employee platform across diverse business functions. Chatterjee noted that Ema remains committed to its vision that AI agents will revolutionise the way enterprises utilise software by enabling task performance instead of merely facilitating employee actions. This funding arrives at a time when organisations are seeking AI agents and workflow automation to streamline their business processes across multiple software ecosystems.
