Emergent Revolutionises AI Software Creation with New Funding

AI software creation platform Emergent has successfully secured $130 million in a Series C funding round led by Creaegis. This round saw participation from Claypond, Sentinel Global, Khosla Ventures, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Lightspeed, and Y Combinator. The latest funding elevates the valuation of the company to $1.5 billion, marking a remarkable fivefold increase in just four months. With this achievement, Emergent has quickly joined the ranks of unicorn startups a mere year after its public debut.

Utilising Funds for Global Expansion

Emergent plans to utilise the proceeds from this funding round to further develop its AI software creation platform, enhance autonomous AI functionalities, and bolster its expanding global customer base.

Founded by Visionaries

Founded in 2025 by Mukund and Madhav Jha, Emergent empowers founders, entrepreneurs, and small businesses to create production-ready web and mobile applications using autonomous AI agents, all without the need for coding experience. The company reports that over 12 million applications have been created on its platform, with nearly 70% of its users lacking prior coding knowledge.

The Future of Software Development

Mukund Jha, co-founder and CEO of Emergent, emphasised the transformative potential of AI in software development. He conveyed that the real essence of the AI revolution lies in the complete democratisation of software creation and its associated costs. With Emergent, entrepreneurs and business owners can independently build and manage the software required for their operations without relying on conventional engineering resources.

Diverse Product Capabilities

Emergent enables users to develop a variety of products, including CRMs, ERPs, marketplaces, mobile applications, internal tools, and customer-facing software, all facilitated by intelligent AI agents.

Impressive Funding Journey

In total, Emergent has accumulated $230 million across three funding rounds within a year. The startup kickstarted its funding journey with $23 million in its Series A round in September 2025, followed by a $70 million Series B round in January 2026.

Joining the Unicorn Club

With this latest funding, Emergent has emerged as the third AI startup and the seventh overall to join India’s unicorn club in 2026, alongside KreditBee, Neysa, Juspay, Skyroot, Sarvam AI, and Square Yards. Just last month, AI startup Sarvam AI successfully raised $234 million in the first close of its $300 million Series B round, achieving a post-money valuation of $1.5 billion.
