Emversity: Building a Skilled Grey-Collar Workforce

Emversity, a brand under Beyond Odds Technologies, has successfully secured $5 million in pre-Series A funding led by Lightspeed and Z47, alongside contributions from Alteria Capital and Innoven Capital.

Beyond Odds Technologies was founded by Vivek Sinha, the previous Chief Operating Officer of Unacademy, who initiated the company with a significant investment of $11 million in April 2024. The initial funding focus was supported by Matrix Partners India and Lightspeed.

Currently, the platform operates across 36 campuses in 18 states, with a mission to develop a skilled grey-collar workforce in crucial industries such as healthcare, travel, and hospitality. Emversity is set to broaden its reach to over 75 campuses by the end of the financial year.

Educational Programs at Emversity

The Emversity School of Allied Health Sciences prepares students for careers in nursing, paramedicine, laboratory technology, caregiving, and various other healthcare roles. Additionally, the recently launched Emversity School of Hospitality has forged partnerships with well-known hotel chains to offer training in food and beverage service, room management, and culinary arts.

Innovative Training Model

Emversity merges industry-oriented training with higher education. This approach features employer-sponsored stipends and a curriculum tailored by industry experts to enhance job readiness and accessibility for students.

The company runs two distinctive programs: SMART and EDGE. These initiatives provide vocational and honours degree opportunities through collaborations with higher education institutions, encompassing training, internships, and job placement support.
