Exotel Leadership Expansion in AI Customer Engagement
Exotel, a customer engagement platform, is enhancing its leadership team with five senior appointments as it deepens its commitment to the AI-led customer experience sector. This announcement follows the recent acquisition of the core team from Dubverse.
New Appointments at Exotel
The company has announced that Rohan Shanbagh has been elevated to the position of chief operating officer (COO). In this role, Shanbagh will be responsible for overseeing business operations, enhancing profitability, and ensuring effective execution across all segments of the company.
Additionally, Sanjeeth R has been appointed as the chief product officer (CPO). Sanjeeth, who makes a return to Exotel while also engaging with the sales productivity platform Luru, will take charge of product strategy for Exotel’s offerings in Voice AI, CCaaS, and CPaaS.
Financial Leadership and Partnerships
Exotel has also welcomed Ananda Kumar as its new chief financial officer (CFO). Kumar brings valuable experience in financial and operational transformation from his previous roles in technology companies.
Udit Agarwal has been promoted to senior vice president, taking on the global head of partnerships and marketing role. He will lead efforts in partnerships, alliances, and demand generation across various markets. Furthermore, Sumithra Sivaramakrishnan has also been advanced to head of people and culture, with responsibilities for leadership development and organisational strategy.
The Growing AI Customer Engagement Landscape
These leadership changes align with the growing trend of enterprises adopting AI-based customer engagement solutions across both voice and digital platforms. Currently, Exotel supports more than 25 billion customer interactions each year, which includes over 4 billion AI-driven conversations, serving more than 7,000 enterprises, including notable clients such as Apollo 24|7, HDFC Securities, Future Generali, JSW, and MG Motor.

Founded in 2011, Exotel offers comprehensive customer engagement infrastructure, including solutions for Voice AI, CCaaS, and CPaaS. According to data from Startup Superb, Exotel has successfully raised $100 million in funding across several rounds, with prominent investors such as Blume Ventures, A91 Partners, and Sistema Asia.
Exotel’s operating revenue saw a 10% rise to Rs 490.5 crore in FY25, up from Rs 444.5 crore in FY24. The company reported a profit of Rs 20 crore in FY25, compared to a loss of Rs 37 crore in FY24.
