Firefly Diamonds: Indian Lab-Grown Diamond Jewellery Breaks Ground with $3 Million Funding
Firefly Diamonds, an innovative Indian lab-grown diamond jewellery brand, has successfully secured $3 million in its seed funding round, spearheaded by WestBridge Capital. This financial boost is aimed at propelling the brand’s retail expansion, enhancing its digital footprint, and driving research and development for novel and exclusive jewellery collections.
About Firefly Diamonds
Founded by Adit and Aayush Bhansali, Firefly employs cutting-edge technology to produce lab-grown diamonds. These diamonds boast identical physical, chemical, and optical properties to those mined from the Earth, yet their manufacturing is significantly less harmful to the environment. The brand offers exquisite jewellery designs crafted in both 14K and 18K gold.
Current Retail Presence and Future Plans
Currently, Firefly Diamonds has established stores in four major cities: Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, with ambitious plans to grow its presence to over 20 locations within the next two years.
Competitive Landscape in Lab-Grown Diamonds
In the realm of lab-grown diamonds, Firefly Diamonds faces competition from several notable companies, including COLUXE, launched by serial entrepreneur Priyanka Gill, along with Fiona Diamonds, Limelight Lab Grown Diamonds, and Jewelbox. Additionally, the Aditya Birla Group-backed GIVA has also introduced its own line of lab-grown diamond jewellery.
