Micro Drama On Flipkart: Short Entertainment Content on Ecommerce Platform

Micro drama is now available on Flipkart, the ecommerce platform owned by Walmart, featuring captivating short form entertainment content for users. The startup Superb has enabled the launch of a dedicated micro drama section on the Flipkart app.

New Features of the Flipkart App

The addition includes a new Play tab located at the bottom navigation bar. This tab contains options like Explore for creator content and Drama specifically for micro dramas. Users will find a variety of titles in the Drama section such as CEO Se Romeo, Contract Marriage, Boss Bahu, Ek Ladki Do Insaan, Elayichi, L, KHEER, Mr Aditi, Nakli Pati Asli Crorepati, and Ishq Ibadat.

Genres and Talent

The content spans multiple genres including drama, action, and comedy. Renowned actors such as Anupam Kher, Rasika Dugal, and Mandira Bedi contribute their performances, enriching the viewing experience. Flipkart describes these offerings as short stories ideal for users to engage with during brief moments throughout their day.

Accessing the Micro Drama Feature

The micro drama feature is readily accessible on the Flipkart mobile app. Users can easily find it by clicking on the Play icon and navigating to the Drama section.

Partnerships and Collaborations

According to Moneycontrol, which first broke the news, Flipkart has collaborated with Terribly Tiny Tales (TTT), Pratilipi, and other partners to create the content. Additionally, it is reported that Flipkart will include content from Pinkvilla, which was acquired in 2025.

Competitive Landscape

Flipkart’s entry into the micro drama market coincides with increasing competition in India. Direct competitors include Kuku Technologies’ Kuku TV, ShareChat’s Quick TV, EloElo’s StoryTV, and EloTV. Notably, established entertainment companies like Yash Raj Films and Sun TV Network have recently announced their own ventures into micro drama production, while earlier players like Pocket FM have exited this segment.

Strategic Benefits for Flipkart

This new feature not only adds an entertainment dimension to the Flipkart app but also opens up additional opportunities for user engagement and advertising. Moneycontrol suggested that Flipkart may consider brand integrations and product placements within this innovative format.
