Foodstories Secures Rs 50 Crore Funding for Gourmet Retail Expansion

Foodstories, a gourmet retail startup, has successfully raised Rs 50 crore in a funding round spearheaded by Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of Zerodha, along with contributions from Narotam Sekhsaria Family Office, an existing investor. This investment will facilitate the expansion of its digital operations, enhance delivery systems, and further the company’s retail development, as stated in a press release.

About Foodstories

Founded in 2021 by sisters Avni Biyani and Ashni Biyani, who are the daughters of Kishore Biyani, the founder of Future Group, Foodstories operates as a premium gourmet food and lifestyle brand. The platform offers a combination of immersive physical stores and a comprehensive digital delivery system that spans major cities such as Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. Foodstories aims to provide customers with organic produce, international ingredients, and wellness cafés within their stores.

Innovative Retail Solutions

Foodstories integrates experiential retail, hospitality, and online commerce, allowing consumers to access a curated assortment of products while helping producers reach a broader market. Ashni and Avni Biyani also co-founded Think9, a brand co-creation initiative that has developed various direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands, including SuperYou (protein), Good Bug (gut health), Anaar (footwear and accessories), and BiE (clean beauty).

Current Operations and Future Plans

Foodstories currently has locations in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad and has recently launched a flagship store in Bandra, Mumbai. Plans are underway for another outlet in Lokhandwala. The company skillfully merges traditional retail with a solid digital framework, allowing customers to place orders through multiple channels including the Foodstories e-commerce site, WhatsApp, and phone calls, thus enabling smooth omnichannel delivery and local fulfilment.
