Emergent: AI-led Software Creation Startup Secures Investment
Emergent is an AI-led software creation startup that has recently secured a strategic investment from Google AI Futures Fund. This funding is part of a broader initiative by Google, launched in May 2025, aimed at supporting emerging AI companies with essential capital.
This development follows Emergent’s successful $23 million Series A funding round, which was led by Lightspeed and included participation from Together Fund, among others. The new investment will accelerate Emergent’s hiring processes, product development efforts, and global market expansion.
Enhancing Performance and Reliability
According to a press release from Emergent, the funding will also allow them to leverage Google’s AI infrastructure and models to enhance agent performance, product reliability, and the scalability of their platform, catering to the growing demand in international markets. Emergent is particularly focused on extending its reach within the freelancer community, startups, and individuals running side projects who require rapid software deployment without engineering resources.
Founders and Vision
Founded in 2025 by Mukund Jha, an ex-co-founder of Dunzo, and his brother Madhav Jha, Emergent provides a platform that enables users to convert their ideas into production-ready applications using autonomous AI agents. This innovative approach eliminates the necessity for developers or technical co-founders, making it accessible to a wider audience.
The platform specifically targets entrepreneurs, small-scale businesses, creators, and solo founders who wish to develop software despite lacking coding knowledge. Emergent proudly announces that it has surpassed 2.5 million users within just five months of its launch and is currently achieving a run rate of over $25 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR).
