HomeRun Secures $12 Million in Funding for Construction Materials Quick Commerce

Bengaluru’s construction materials quick commerce startup HomeRun has successfully raised $12 million in a Series A+ funding round, led by Nexus Venture Partners. The funding round also saw participation from existing investors including Sorin Investments, Titan Capital, Sparrow Capital, and Consumer Collective by Atrium. This latest fundraising follows a previous investment of $6.6 million earlier this year. HomeRun plans to utilise this new capital to expand its market presence while enhancing its supply chain, technology, and product offerings.

About HomeRun and Its Services

Founded by Pukhraj Grewal, HomeRun specializes in delivering construction and interior materials to both contractors and homeowners within a rapid timeframe of 60 minutes. The startup boasts a diverse catalogue that includes cement, plywood, wires, paints, hardware, and various building materials. HomeRun has successfully fulfilled over 100,000 orders and achieved an impressive 8X growth over the past year. Currently, it operates primarily in Bengaluru and has broadened its scope across key product categories.

Background of the Founder

Before establishing HomeRun, Grewal co-founded Tornado, an interior contracting startup, and Project Hero, a construction labour marketplace. The startup is part of an emerging sector that aims to provide rapid delivery services for construction materials.

Market Competition

Recently, another Bengaluru-based company, Fixxly, raised $5.5 million in a seed round from firms such as Accel, Fireside Ventures, and Lightspeed India Partners. HomeRun faces competition not only from established building material retailers but also from other startups like IBO and Material Depot.

Nexus Venture Partners’ Investments

This investment further enriches Nexus Venture Partners’ portfolio in early-stage startups. Last year, the venture capital firm completed its eighth fund with $700 million, aimed at supporting companies across various sectors, including artificial intelligence, enterprise software, consumer goods, and fintech in both India and the United States.
