Quick commerce platform Instamart has recently appointed Gautam Swaroop to take on the role of Chief Business Officer (CBO) as it enhances its leadership team. In this capacity, Swaroop will manage the company’s commercial operations, which encompass customer growth, category management, and brand partnerships, as stated in a press release from Instamart.
Experience and Career Background of Gautam Swaroop
Swaroop brings over twenty years of expertise across various sectors, including consulting, pharmaceuticals, and technology. He commenced his professional journey at McKinsey & Company before transitioning to Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, contributing to the expansion of the company’s emerging markets business. Most notably, he was the CEO of OYO’s international division, where he oversaw operations in the US, UK, Europe, China, and Latin America.
Transition from Swiggy
Swaroop takes over the position from Hari Kumar, who has recently stepped down as Chief Business Officer for Swiggy’s quick commerce division. Addressing the new appointment, Girish Menon, Chief Human Resources Officer at Swiggy, remarked that Swaroop’s extensive experience in scaling businesses positions Instamart for enhanced brand partnerships and future growth.
Broader Leadership Expansion at Instamart
This new appointment is part of a wider effort to expand leadership at Instamart. The company has also designated Srikar Adavi as Vice President of Ad Monetization and Hardeep Kaur as Associate Vice President focusing on the FMCG category.
