Jagruti Rehabilitation Centre Raises Rs 28 Crore in Series A Funding

Jagruti Rehabilitation Centre Secures Rs 28 Crore in Series A Funding

Jagruti Rehabilitation Centre, a key provider of mental health, addiction, and dementia care services, has successfully raised Rs 28 crore in a Series A funding round led by Alkemi Growth Capital. This new funding is set to facilitate the centre’s expansion into new regions, enhance clinical capacity and staffing, develop specialized care programmes, and strengthen partnerships with insurance and corporate entities, according to a press release from Jagruti.

The investment arrives at a time of increasing demand for structured mental health and rehabilitation services in India. Despite this growth, the sector remains highly fragmented, predominantly operating through standalone clinics and smaller independent facilities.

About Jagruti Rehabilitation Centre

Founded by Amar Shinde, Vijaya Shinde, and Hemant Shinde, Jagruti Rehabilitation Centre offers residential care specifically designed for mental health issues, addiction, and dementia. This Pune-based institution currently operates more than 19 centres across nine cities, providing over 1,600 beds and employing a team of over 40 doctors.

Future Expansion Plans

Jagruti plans to significantly expand its reach, aiming to operate over 40 centres and provide more than 4,000 beds in Tier I and Tier II cities within the next three to four years. The organisation claims to have successfully treated more than 82,000 individuals.

The centres are located in various major cities, including Pune, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai, offering comprehensive programmes that address mental health conditions, addiction, and substance use disorders, alongside neurological care.

Alkemi Growth Capital’s Investment Strategy

This investment marks Alkemi Growth Capital’s first foray into the mental health and rehabilitation sector of healthcare delivery, thereby expanding its involvement in healthcare solutions. The venture capital firm’s existing portfolio includes several healthcare companies, such as Redcliffe Labs in diagnostics, Medvital in medical devices, Datar Cancer Genetics in in-vitro diagnostics, Medulance in emergency medical response, Alphadroid in autonomous mobility robots, and Leumas in physical AI for pharmaceutical manufacturing.
