Kisah Apparels Secures Funds to Enhance Men’s Ethnicwear Market Presence
Men’s ethnicwear brand Kisah Apparels has successfully raised Rs 13 crore (1.52 million) in a pre-Series A funding round. This investment was spearheaded by Sagar Daryani, the founder of Wow! Momo, with additional involvement from Apoorv Salarpuria, Rahul Todi, Vinod Dugar, and Inflection Point Ventures.
The funds will be directed towards increasing its offline footprint, enhancing direct-to-consumer (D2C) operations, and supporting brand development, as announced by Kisah in its press release.
About Kisah Apparels
Founded in 2018 by Yash Sarawagi and Yashwi Ladasaria, Kisah specializes in high-fashion ethnicwear tailored for Gen Z and millennials, all at competitive price points. Based in Kolkata, the brand initially adopted a marketplace model and is currently transitioning into an omnichannel retail approach. At present, Kisah operates two offline stores, with plans to launch three additional outlets in major Indian cities.
Insights on Growth and Strategy
According to Yash Sarawagi, the co-founder and CEO of Kisah Apparels, the brand’s e-commerce platform has provided extensive reach across India and valuable insights into consumer behaviour, which are now driving both D2C and offline expansion. This growth is backed by data, customer demand, and strong cash flow at the organisational level.
Data-Driven Decision Making
Kisah has developed internal systems to analyse data from its marketplace and D2C channels. This analysis supports decisions in product design, sourcing, supply chain efficiency, and marketing initiatives. The brand reports significant growth, rising from Rs 40–45 crore to a run rate exceeding Rs 100 crore, complemented by positive operating cash flow and profit after tax (PAT).
