Lawyered Secures $2.5 Million in Funding for Legal Tech Innovations
Legal tech startup Lawyered has successfully raised $2.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round, co-led by Rainmatter by Zerodha and Turbostart. The round saw active participation from existing investor Finvolve. The Gurugram-based company had earlier raised Rs 8.5 crore on the business reality show IdeaBaaz, which valued it at Rs 120 crore pre-money. Key participants of that round included Pawan Jaggi, venture capitalist Sandesh Sharda, Priyanka Salot, co-founder of The Sleep Company, and Arjun Vaidya.
The freshly acquired capital will be utilised to enhance technology infrastructure, expand product offerings, and boost user acquisition, with a particular emphasis on advancing AI-led capabilities, as stated by Lawyered in a recent press release.
About Lawyered and Its Innovative Services
Founded in 2018 by Himanshu Gupta, Lawyered is a legal tech enterprise that functions as an AI-driven platform providing on-road legal assistance. It primarily focuses on two services: “LOTS247” (roadside legal aid) and “ChallanPay” (traffic fine resolution), catering to vehicle owners, drivers, and logistics companies. The platform is designed to become India’s foremost resource for identifying and mitigating legal risks related to mobility.
Creating a Safer Legal Environment
According to Lawyered, it is dedicated to establishing the legal framework necessary to keep vehicles, fleets, and businesses compliant and secure, tackling legal risks before they disrupt daily life or operations. By shifting legal compliance to a proactive model, the platform alleviates financial burdens, averts downtime, and instils confidence in both individuals and businesses to operate without legal apprehension.
Transforming Legal Services in India
In a landscape where legal services remain largely reactive and fragmented in India, Lawyered’s approach, driven by Generative AI, is revolutionising the sector from a passive service to an essential, always-available utility. The startup intends to broaden its scope to encompass various industries where ongoing legal risks can hinder individuals and businesses. From finance and real estate to healthcare and e-commerce, Lawyered aims to integrate legal frameworks directly into routine operations.
Impact and Reach of Lawyered
Lawyered claims that it currently services over 2 million vehicles and collaborates with more than 800 businesses throughout India. Its platforms, LOTS247 and ChallanPay, have successfully resolved upwards of 200,000 legal issues, helping clients avoid penalties and unneeded downtime amounting to over $6 million.
