Pocket FM Leadership Change: Suyog Gothi Steps Down

Pocket FM’s India Country Head Suyog Gothi has departed from the company following a tenure of two and a half years. His exit marks the latest in a series of senior leadership departures within the past month, according to multiple sources from Startup Superb. Gothi joined Pocket FM in December 2023. Sources indicate that Nitin Verma has assumed Gothi’s duties as part of an internal reshuffle.

Leadership Transition at Pocket FM

A person familiar with the situation revealed that the transition is already underway, with Nitin currently managing the role. The company is in the process of realigning teams, and more senior exits are anticipated in the coming weeks.

Company’s Statement on Recent Changes

In a statement to Startup Superb, a representative from Pocket FM confirmed the news, stating that Suyog Gothi moved on from the company over seven months ago to explore new opportunities. This decision was stated to be unrelated to Pocket TV.

Background on Suyog Gothi

Despite the company’s statement, Gothi’s LinkedIn profile indicates he held the position of India Country Head until May 2026. Prior to his role at Pocket FM, Gothi spent nearly seven years at PhonePe, overseeing the UPI payments segment before transitioning to Head of Merchant Lending. He also served as a Business Analyst at Flipkart from June 2014 to July 2015.

Future Endeavours and Company Outlook

Details about Gothi’s next career move remain unclear, as he did not respond to inquiries prior to this publication. When asked about additional senior-level departures, the spokesperson remarked that leadership transitions occur in growing organisations for various personal and professional reasons and mentioned there is no knowledge of upcoming senior-level exits.

Recent Departures at Pocket FM

Gothi’s exit follows a series of senior leadership resignations at Pocket FM. Recently, Assistant Vice President of Content Ankit Singh announced his departure after a two-year tenure. Last month, Chief Financial Officer Anurag Sharma resigned after nearly three years with the firm to venture into entrepreneurship. Senior Vice President Mayank Sancheti also left the company during the same timeframe.

Closure of Pocket TV Vertical

Meanwhile, Pocket FM has officially closed its microdrama vertical, Pocket TV, following the assessment that it did not significantly contribute to the company’s overall business. The spokesperson mentioned that microdrama remains a category the company may explore again in the future as the market matures and the timing aligns.
