Peak XV Managing Partners Announce Departure
Peak XV’s managing partners, Shailesh Lakhani, a seasoned professional with 17 years at the firm, and Abheek Anand, who has primarily focused on investments in Southeast Asia, have chosen to leave the company.
Lakhani has publicly confirmed his exit from the venture capital firm via a message on the micro-blogging platform X. He expressed, “As my time at Peak XV/Sequoia India reaches 17.5 years, I’ve decided it’s the right moment to step back from the firm. It has been an incredible journey—one that began in August 2007, when India’s startup ecosystem was in its infancy, to today, where it stands as one of the most vibrant in the world. I wouldn’t have traded this courtside seat for anything.”
While Anand has not officially commented on his departure, reports from TechCrunch have confirmed the news this afternoon.
Both Lakhani and Anand were elevated to the position of Managing Directors of Peak XV during the firm’s transition from Sequoia Capital.
This situation is evolving. Keep an eye out for further updates.
