Matiks: Bengaluru-Based Social Gaming Startup Raises $10 Million in Funding

Matiks Raises $10 Million to Enhance Social Gaming Platform

Bengaluru-based social gaming startup Matiks has successfully secured $10 million in a Pre-Series A funding round, led by General Catalyst. This round also saw contributions from Ronnie Screwvala, alongside existing investors like Info Edge Ventures, Tanglin Venture Partners, and Untitled Ventures. The newly acquired funds will enable Matiks to broaden its global footprint, create new gaming experiences, and unveil an AI-driven game development platform that empowers users to design and publish games without needing programming skills.

About Matiks

Founded in 2024 by Sudhanshu Bhatia, Sushant, and Mohan, Matiks began as a mental maths game and has evolved into a comprehensive social gaming platform. It now features games that cover mathematics, memory, logic, and puzzles. Users can challenge their friends, engage in daily contests, and monitor their growth on the platform.

User Engagement and Growth

As of September 2026, Matiks boasted 2.2 million users who played an impressive 48 million games on the platform. The count of daily active users has surged to over 300,000, more than double compared to June, with the platform gaining traction in markets such as Japan, the US, and South Korea. Recently, Matiks introduced SNAC, a continuous stream of single-player puzzles, which has resulted in extended user engagement according to the startup.

Future Plans of Matiks

Matiks intends to prioritise the US market as it looks to widen its presence in other significant international territories. The company is focusing on investing in engineering, artificial intelligence, product development, game design, and overall growth. Moreover, efforts are underway to create an AI-driven game development engine that will allow users to develop, publish, and share their own brain games across various formats.

Previous Funding Efforts

In August 2025, Matiks raised $3.1 million in a Pre-Series A funding round, which was also led by Tanglin Venture Partners with participation from Info Edge Ventures and several angel investors, including Aman Gupta, co-founder of boAt, and Unacademy co-founders Gaurav Munjal and Roman Saini, among others.
