E-commerce marketplace Meesho has revealed its financial performance for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027. Notably, the company achieved a year-on-year revenue growth of 48%, while significantly reducing its losses by 54% to Rs 133 crore during this timeframe.

Financial Performance Overview

Meesho’s revenue from operations surged to Rs 3,713 crore in Q1 FY27, rising from Rs 2,504 crore in the same quarter the previous fiscal year, as per the financial statements submitted to the NSE. The breakdown of the revenue was not provided in these financial disclosures. Additionally, the company generated Rs 114 crore in non-operating income, resulting in a total income of Rs 3,826 crore for the quarter that ended in June.

Quarterly Comparisons

On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the company’s operational revenue grew by 5%, increasing from Rs 3,531 crore in Q4 FY26. While detailed expenses were not disclosed in the quarterly financial statements, Meesho allocated Rs 243 crore for employee benefits in Q1 FY27, marking a 17% rise from Rs 207 crore in Q1 FY26. The depreciation expense for the quarter amounted to Rs 20 crore. In total, the company’s expenses rose by 43% year-on-year, amounting to Rs 3,959 crore in Q1 FY27, compared to Rs 2,778 crore in Q1 FY26.

Segment Performance

When analysed by segment, Meesho’s marketplace division reported an EBITDA loss of Rs 139 crore, whereas its new initiatives segment showed an EBITDA loss of Rs 39 crore, with revenue of Rs 6 crore. Ultimately, Meesho managed to narrow its losses by 54%, resulting in a figure of Rs 133 crore in Q1 FY27 compared to Rs 289 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.

Recent Strategic Moves

Last month, Meesho advanced its growth strategy by approving the acquisition of a 100% stake in Singapore-based Kirana Club, alongside an additional 0.41% stake in its Indian subsidiary, Retail Pulse Labs Private Limited (RPLPL), for a total consideration of Rs 202.08 crore. Consequently, Kirana Club will transition into a wholly owned subsidiary of Meesho.

Market Position

At the close of Thursday’s trading session, Meesho’s share price stood at Rs 188.95, reflecting a total market capitalisation of Rs 87,057 crore (approximately $9.16 billion).
