MiniPix – Mobile-First Entertainment Platform for Short-Form Micro-Dramas
Bengaluru’s MiniPix, a mobile-centric entertainment platform dedicated to short-form regional micro-dramas tailored for audiences in Bharat, has secured Rs 2.4 crore during a pre-seed funding round. This round was headed by the startup accelerator PedalStart, with participation from Venture Catalysts and angel investors Sandip Gupta and Rajdip Gupta, the founders of Route Mobile, through their venture SanRaj Family Ventures Pvt. Ltd.
The capital raised will be utilised to enhance product-market compatibility, expand the creation of top-tier regional content, and establish a focused execution team.
About MiniPix
Launched in June 2025, MiniPix aims to create a premium platform devoted to brief, vertical micro-dramas, crafted specifically for viewers in tier-II and tier-III regions of India. The startup operates within the rapidly expanding arena of short-form digital entertainment.
Market Potential
Research by Redseer Strategy Consultants indicates that India’s micro-drama and interactive content formats are projected to witness a 50–70% compound annual growth rate (CAGR), fuelled by increasing smartphone adoption, affordable data prices, and a growing inclination towards regional-language content.
Achievements
In the six months post-launch, MiniPix has surpassed 100,000 app downloads, gained over 20,000 paying subscribers, and accumulated more than 3 million views on episodes, amounting to over 35,000 hours of content streamed. The company reports an annual recurring revenue exceeding Rs 3 crore.
Future Plans
Currently concentrating on Bhojpuri micro-dramas, MiniPix intends to broaden its scope into five additional regional languages within the next two years. Additionally, the company is evaluating selective implementation of AI-driven tools to enhance efficiency in both content production and platform operations. They aim to reach ₹6 crore in annual recurring revenue by March 2026 as part of their growth strategy.
