Billdesk Co-founder Elected New Chairman of IAMAI for 2025-27

Billdesk co-founder MN Srinivasu has been appointed the new chairman of the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) for the term of 2025-27, succeeding Harsh Jain, who is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dream Sports.

New Executive Roles within IAMAI

Alongside Srinivasu, Razorpay CEO and co-founder Harshil Mathur and PhonePe founder and CEO Sameer Nigam have taken on the roles of vice chairman and treasurer, respectively. They replace Rajesh Magow from MakeMyTrip and Times Internet vice chairman Satyan Gajwani.

Upcoming Changes in Council Leadership

The newly elected 24-member governing council and the executive council of IAMAI are set to assume their responsibilities during the forthcoming annual general meeting.

Controversy Surrounding IAMAI Elections

The 2023 elections for the IAMAI governing council faced allegations of controversy, as the trade body was accused of echoing the views of its so-called Big Tech members. In April 2023, IAMAI opposed the introduction of a distinct digital competition framework intended to address “anti-competitive practices” by large technology firms.

Industry Reactions to IAMAI’s Stance

Indian entrepreneurs voiced their concerns against IAMAI, asserting that a digital competition law is essential and hinting that the organisation’s position reflects the makeup of its leadership.
