Mowito Secures $3 Million in Pre-Seed Funding for Physical AI Solutions

Physical AI startup Mowito has successfully raised $3 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Version One Ventures. Other participants include All In Capital, Unisol, iSeed, and notable angel investors such as Soumith Chintala, Adarsh Kulkarni, Ashish Kulkarni, and Vaibhav Domkundwar from Better Capital. Mowito had previously acquired $540K through an angel funding round.

The funds will be directed towards expansion into the United States, fortifying its engineering and market entry teams, and enhancing deployments with automotive and electronics manufacturers, as stated in Mowito’s press release.

About Mowito

Founded in 2024 by Puru Rastogi, Adityanag Nagesh, and Safar V, Mowito focuses on creating Physical AI foundational models intended for industrial robotic arms. The software developed by Mowito empowers robots to learn manufacturing processes directly from demonstrations rather than relying on traditional programming methods, enabling faster automation deployment with existing robotic equipment.

The Need for Advanced Programming Solutions

Typically, industrial robots depend on inflexible programming, which can take days to set up and often requires adjustments whenever there are changes to products, processes, or components. Mowito is innovating Physical AI models that allow robots to grasp tasks directly through demonstrations, minimising conventional programming needs while ensuring the precision essential for manufacturing applications.

Current Deployments and Competitors

The Bengaluru-based startup indicates that its technology is already operational in production settings. Its software currently powers robots on manufacturing lines at a Fortune 500 automotive company, facilitating high-precision assembly operations across the automotive and consumer electronics industries.

Mowito finds itself in competition with industry players such as Cognex, Keyence, Omron, and Fanuc within the realm of industrial automation and machine vision.
