Navi Raises $100 Million to Enhance Digital Financial Services
Fintech unicorn Navi has successfully secured $100 million from Prosus. This marks the company’s inaugural institutional funding round, and the deal will proceed following standard closing terms and necessary regulatory approvals, including clearance from the Competition Commission of India (CCI).
Prosus expressed interest in Navi due to its extensive user base, diverse business operations, technology-oriented outlook, and dedication to consumer experience. The investment firm also mentioned that Navi has performed admirably over the past year despite facing challenging market conditions.
Although Navi chose not to reveal its valuation, reports from ET estimate it to be approximately $1.3 billion. Notably, Navi had been looking for external funding at a valuation of $2 billion for a period of time, as indicated by various media sources.
Founded by Sachin Bansal, a co-founder of Flipkart, Navi operates in sectors such as lending, insurance, mutual funds, and UPI payments. In March 2026, Navi introduced motor insurance as part of its insurance offerings.
In February 2025, Navi appointed Rajiv Naresh as the CEO of Navi Technologies and Abhishek Dwivedi as the CEO of Navi Finserv, while Sachin Bansal transitioned to Executive Chairman of the Navi Group.
This investment is timely, occurring a few months before Navi’s anticipated initial public offering (IPO), which aims for a valuation around $2 billion.
Navi’s lending division faced a temporary setback in FY25 when the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) halted new loan approvals for Navi Finserv in October 2024 due to compliance-related issues. However, the RBI lifted these restrictions in December 2024.
Throughout FY26, Navi UPI maintained its status as India’s fourth-largest UPI application, while Navi Finserv’s assets under management (AUM) surpassed Rs 13,000 crore. Based on data from NPCI, Navi commanded a 4% market share in transaction volume as of July 2026.
Navi reported a net loss of Rs 466 crore in FY26, while operational revenue increased by 16% to reach Rs 2,982 crore. The company has stated it achieved consolidated profitability in Q4 FY26, underpinned by enhancing economic conditions and operating leverage.
Navi provides loans, insurance, mutual funds, and UPI payments through a digital-first platform, boasting hundreds of millions of users across India. The company is devoted to establishing a comprehensive financial services platform tailored to consumer needs.
