Funding Success for NuSynth Technologies in Chemical Process Innovation

NuSynth Technologies Focuses on Chemical Process Innovation

NuSynth Technologies, a startup dedicated to chemical process innovation based in Bengaluru, has successfully secured Rs 36.5 crore (approximately $4 million) in a seed funding round. This funding was co-led by Avaana Capital and Shastra VC. The company is actively creating a platform aimed at redesigning chemical synthesis processes. This involves assessing raw materials, reaction pathways, and the economic aspects of the processes.

Innovative Platform for Chemical Synthesis

NuSynth is leveraging predictive synthesis models alongside an advanced AI engine that analyses experimental data to enhance future research cycles. The platform is primarily concentrated on developing alternative synthesis routes, taking into consideration various factors such as cost, yield, safety, sustainability, and scalability.

Initial Focus on Pharmaceuticals and Electronics

The startup’s inaugural focus lies on the sectors of pharmaceuticals and electronic chemicals. It aims to create proprietary chemical processes that can be applied commercially across a variety of chemistry-driven industries. The newly acquired capital will be strategically utilised for enhancing R&D and technological capabilities, creating an initial portfolio of proprietary processes, bolstering scale-up capacities, and expanding the operational team.

Founding Team with Strong Background

NuSynth was established by Poorvank Purohit, who previously served as the Managing Director and CEO of Solara Active Pharma Sciences, alongside Dr Ramesha A R, a postdoctoral researcher at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Washington. The founding team also features Abhishek Deo and Dipak Bajaj, professionals with experience from notable firms such as Zetwerk, Mstack, Ola, JPMorgan, BlackBuck, and SUN Mobility.

Enhancing R&D Efficiency

The company’s platform is engineered to significantly decrease the time taken for chemical R&D by utilising data from prior experiments to guide future research efforts.
