Oben Electric Boosts Electric Motorcycle Production with Rs 50 Crore Funding
Electric motorcycle manufacturer Oben Electric has successfully raised an additional Rs 50 crore ($6 million) in an extended Series A financing round. This brings the total Series A funding to Rs 100 crore ($12 million), cumulating in an overall capital of Rs 200 crore ($24 million).
The latest fundraising, which occurred in May 2025, included contributions from Helios Holdings, the Sharda family office, the Kay family, and existing investors.
The funds will facilitate Oben’s plans to grow its network to over 150 showrooms in 50 cities by FY26, enhance production capabilities at its Bengaluru facility, and further product development via its latest ‘O100’ platform, aimed at electric motorcycles priced below Rs 1 lakh.
Founded in 2020 by Madhumita Agrawal, Sagar Thakkar, and Dinkar Agrawal, Oben Electric focuses on designing and manufacturing electric motorcycles as well as critical components such as batteries, motors, vehicle control units, and home fast chargers.
The firm announced that the extended Series A funding reflects strong investor confidence and comes at a pivotal moment when the company’s momentum is increasing across the nation.
Following an initial $6 million Series A round in January, Oben Electric asserts that it has seen rapid expansion, establishing 37 retail outlets across 26 cities in 13 states. The company is committed to developing and producing electric motorcycles and essential components in-house, including LFP batteries, motors, and vehicle control units.
Located in Jigani, Bengaluru, their manufacturing facility boasts a production capacity of 100,000 units annually, supported by a network of over 150 vendors. Oben Electric operates in a competitive landscape with startups such as Tork Motors and established firms also venturing into the electric motorcycle sector. However, Oben differentiates itself through comprehensive vertical integration, over 25 patents, and a design approach driven by research and development.
