Ajay Tyagi has been appointed as an Independent Director on the board of PRISM, which is the parent company of OYO. Tyagi previously served as the chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) from 2017 until 2022. In his role at SEBI, he was responsible for managing India’s securities markets, enforcing regulatory frameworks, ensuring investor protection, and supervising both primary and secondary markets.

Background of Ajay Tyagi

Before his time at SEBI, Tyagi worked as Additional Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs under the Ministry of Finance. His responsibilities included capital markets, investment policies, infrastructure financing, and bankruptcy laws. He is an esteemed Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 1984 batch and has held various senior positions within the Government of India. Currently, he serves as an independent director on several boards of different companies.
