PB Fintech Expands with Acquisition and Investments
PB Fintech, the parent firm of Policybazaar and Paisabazaar, has secured initial approval to acquire the remaining 20% stake in its subsidiary MyLoancare Ventures Pvt Ltd for an amount of up to Rs 5 crore, as stated in its filing to the exchange. Following this acquisition, MyLoancare will be fully owned by PB Fintech. The deal will involve cash payment and is anticipated to be finalised by March 31, 2027. The ultimate purchase price will depend on the valuation report and will require approval from the M&A and Investment Committee, along with consent from the selling shareholders.
About MyLoancare
Founded in 2013, MyLoancare is a non-banking financial company (NBFC) registered with the RBI. It focuses on digital lending technology, retail loan aggregation, and distributing various financial products. However, the company has faced challenges, with its turnover plummeting by 90.6% to Rs 82 lakh in the fiscal year 2026, down from Rs 8.7 crore in FY 2024.
Capital Infusion Plans
In addition, PB Fintech has greenlighted capital investments of up to Rs 10 crore in PB Wheels and Rs 1 crore in PB Financial Account Aggregator, both fully owned subsidiaries. These funds aim to bolster working capital and cover operational expenses at PB Wheels, as well as fulfil RBI-mandated capital requirements and operational costs at PB Financial Account Aggregator.
Financial Performance of PB Fintech
On the financial side, PB Fintech reported an impressive 92% year-on-year increase in profit after tax, amounting to Rs 163 crore for the first quarter of FY 2027. Its operating revenue also saw a significant rise of 40% year-on-year, reaching Rs 1,888 crore, compared to Rs 1,348 crore in the same quarter last year.
