Pontaq Ventures Investment in Indian Deeptech Startups
Pontaq Ventures has invested Rs 5.5 crore (approximately $660K) in two Indian deeptech startups, Dweepi and Edgehax. This funding aims to advance product development, technology expansion, and enterprise deployment as the startups grow within India and international markets. This investment represents Pontaq’s second funding round for both companies.
Based in Chennai, Pontaq has supported over 190 startups, including more than 140 deeptech ventures in India and the UK. The firm focuses on investing in cutting-edge technologies such as AI, IoT, edge computing, robotics, and enterprise automation. Alongside financial backing, Pontaq offers portfolio companies essential market access and strategic assistance in cross-border initiatives.
Dweepi’s Innovative Solutions
Dweepi develops robotic track-inspection systems for railways. The company’s platform harnesses automation and AI to examine railway tracks, helping operators with predictive maintenance essential for safety-critical infrastructure.
Edgehax’s Advanced Technology
Edgehax creates Edge AI computing platforms that seamlessly integrate computing, connectivity, and storage within modular systems. The company collaborates with enterprises to enable real-time automation, manage AI workloads, and facilitate distributed intelligence at the edge.
Utilisation of Investment
The funding from Pontaq is anticipated to strengthen the engineering teams at both Dweepi and Edgehax, widen their deployment capabilities, and upgrade their technology frameworks to encourage broader adoption in enterprises.

Pontaq operates within the UK-India corridor and maintains connections with the US and Canada. The fund invests in various sectors, including clean tech, health tech, fintech, and deep tech, while providing access to international markets and delivering hands-on operational support.
